I’m Aram Ayra, a City Commissioner, nonprofit director, and longtime Ward 2 resident running for Riverside City Council.

For over a decade, I’ve worked to strengthen Riverside’s neighborhoods by bringing people together to solve problems and expand opportunity. My focus has always been on improving quality of life for the working families and small businesses that call Riverside home. I currently serve as Associate Director of Development at Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Inland Empire, where I help grow mentorship programs that serve youth across our region.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, I worked on the frontlines with FEMA to support local recovery efforts, helping hundreds of residents and small businesses access critical resources. I also served as President of the Riverside Neighborhood Partnership, where I collaborated with Riversiders citywide on neighborhood improvement efforts. Today, I represent Ward 2 on the City’s Budget Engagement Commission and serve on the UC Riverside Alumni Board of Directors, working to ensure our city remains resilient, inclusive, and future-ready.

I hold a bachelor’s and master’s degree from UC Riverside, and have proudly called Ward 2 home for more than ten years. I’m running for City Council to bring practical leadership and forward-thinking solutions to the challenges we face, from housing and public safety to economic development and neighborhood reinvestment.
