I’m Aram Ayra, a City Commissioner, educator, nonprofit director, and longtime Ward 2 resident running for Riverside City Council.

For over a decade, I’ve worked to strengthen Riverside’s neighborhoods by bringing people together to solve problems and expand opportunity. My focus has always been on improving quality of life for the working families and small businesses that call Riverside home. As an educator and former Associate Director of Development at Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Inland Empire, I've helped grow mentorship programs that serve youth and residents across our region.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, I worked on the frontlines with FEMA to support local recovery efforts, helping hundreds of residents and small businesses access critical resources. I also served as President of the Riverside Neighborhood Partnership, where I collaborated with Riversiders citywide on neighborhood improvement efforts. Today, I represent Ward 2 on the City’s Budget Engagement Commission and serve on the UC Riverside Alumni Board of Directors, working to ensure our city remains resilient, inclusive, and future-ready.

I hold a bachelor’s and master’s degree from UC Riverside, and have proudly called Ward 2 home for more than ten years. I’m running for City Council to bring practical leadership and forward-thinking solutions to the challenges we face, from housing and public safety to economic development and neighborhood reinvestment.

Riverside deserves leadership that listens, acts, and delivers. That’s exactly what I’m ready to do.

ARAM’S VISION FOR A STRONGER RIVERSIDE

  • On City Council, Aram will work to expand housing options that are affordable, sustainable, and accessible for working families, protect renters from being priced out, and address the root causes of homelessness.

  • Aram understands the importance of keeping our neighborhoods safe. He will strengthen our public safety by improving 911 response times, strengthening emergency preparedness and wildfire prevention, and making sure existing resources are used effectively to support our first responders.

  • Aram will fight to lower costs in Riverside by expanding access to affordable childcare, fighting utility rate increases, and supporting small businesses so working families can stay and thrive in Riverside.

  • Aram will fight to improve quality of life for residents by investing in parks and local infrastructure, and protecting our neighborhoods from warehouses, pollution, and truck traffic.
